History
SPIN was formed in 2001 after agency and community interest to establish a forum to work on suicide prevention and promote wellness in the Brandon area. The Youth Suicide Prevention workplan was originally a separate committee with Reclaiming Hope funds from the MB Government. Eventually, with dedication from former members such as Kathy Foley, it was combined into one larger network as it is today. Many projects and initiatives have changed over the years to respond to needs in the community, however some are longstanding and continue to this day.
